The
Aurora Centre provides
self-esteem boosting beauty treatments for men and women who are
undergoing chemo and radiotherapy. The centre is run by volunteers
and was set up by a lady who went through treatment and felt that
this would provide a much needed service. After the new centre was
opened at the Montague Hospital, Mexborough, it was decided that
the one at the DRI was in need of a refurb. This would
hopefully make the room less clinical for patients and help them
to relax during treatment. The JCI Doncaster came to the
rescue with their Changing Rooms project and offered to revamp the
Aurora Centre.
Katherine got involved through
a friend at the JCI and offered some Interior Design advice. She
did some photography for the project and helped to decorate the
centre. |
